Michael Green's CivPro Blog

Civil Procedure exam questions from Michael S. Green's course at William and Mary, with occasional posts on other teaching and research.

NOTE: For those interested in old Civ Pro exam questions with answers, since around 2014 (and especially since 2016) I have not systematically updated the answers in the older posts to take into account changes in the law. As a result, some answers will be out of date.

To repeat, some answers to questions are out of date!

Blogroll

  • Brian Leiter's Law School Reports
  • Dorf on Law
Much more meaningful content than the average law blog.
  • Larry Solum's Legal Theory Blog
    Invaluable.
  • Leiter Reports
  • Marginal Revolution
A bit too libertarian for my taste, but I almost always learn something new. Great book recommendations.

What I am reading (for fun)

  • Dersu the Trapper - V. K. Arseniev
    also a great Kurosawa film
  • Raymond Chandler, The Little Sister
  • Deutscher - The Unfolding of Language
  • Spencer Wells, The Journey of Man: A Genetic Odyssey
  • Richard Brautigan, Revenge of the Lawn
  • Primo Levi, The Periodic Table
    One of my favorites...
  • Ian Tattersall, Masters of the Planet: The Search for Our Human Origins
  • Keith Lowe, Savage Continent: Europe in the Aftermath of World War II
  • B. Traven, Treasure of the Sierra Madre
enigmatic author - book (originally in German) might be even better than the movie, which is saying something
  • Adrian Goldsworthy, How Rome Fell
A return to what (I think) was the traditional reading. Rome's fall was not inevitable - the cause was political instability created by the weakening of the Senate.

What I am listening to

  • Sly and the Family Stone - If You Want Me to Stay
    Could listen to this forever...
  • Tedeschi Trucks Band - Midnight in Harlem
  • Cinnabom - Don't Break My Heart
    Discovered them in Japan
  • Rich Girl - Lake Street Dive
Maybe it's not so bad living in the teens after all...
  • Moody Blues - Legend of a Mind
Cannot get this out of my head. The video is priceless.

What I Am Watching

  • My Dinner with Andre
  • Robert Altman - Mash
  • Robert Altman - Nashville
  • Sullivan's Travels - Preston Sturges
  • John Huston - Treasure of the Sierra Madre
  • John Huston - The Maltese Falcon

What I Am Cooking

  • Bo Ssam
    Yum.
